Harriet L.    Ziperstein
Harriet Linda Ziperstein, 61, died on September 12 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Queens, N.Y., June 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late David and Mollie (Kirmayer) Farb.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 39 years, Alan J. Ziperstein of San Antonio, Texas, and children Howie and Janet Ziperstein of Sandy Hook, Cindy and Carmine Nuzzi of Stamford, and Kevin and Michelle Ziperstein of Shelton, and her six grandchildren, Justin and Rachel Nuzzi and Madison, Zachary, Garrett, and Graham Ziperstein. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Taylor Ann Ziperstein.
Harriet was past president of the Connecticut Region of Hadassah and past president of the Chai Group and Stamford Chapters. She also served as past vice president of The Womenâs Auxiliary of the Jewish Home for the Elderly. She was also on the National Board of Hadassah.
In the past, she was a volunteer at Stamford Hospital, a volunteer of many other organizations, such as child assault prevention program (CAPP), and a tutor for the public schools.
A funeral service was held on September 14 at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford, with Rabbi Joshua Hammerman and Cantor Debra Jacobson officiating. Interment followed at Beth El Cemetery, Roxbury Road, Stamford. Immediately after services the family observed Shiva on Tuesday, September 14, and Wednesday, September 15.

The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, handled the arrangements.
