The Time To Do Something

To the Editor:

We were all shocked at the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, but as the feelings settle, it is now time to do something.

I have decided to get the younger crowd of Newtown involved in the relief effort through the high school. I am writing in hopes of your helping with informing anyone interested in donating to the relief effort, to let them know that boxes will be set up at Newtown High School in the Main Lobby. I wanted the parents of students to remind them the importance of giving back to the community and people in need.

The boxes are set up for donations of batteries, diapers, blankets, clothes, toiletries, bottled water, and nonperishable canned foods. Obviously, at this point any type of contribution is greatly needed and also appreciated. Thanks for your help in letting the community know!
