Dorothy A. Burns

Dorothy A. Burns, 76, wife of James  W. Burns of 4 Woodbine Lane, Newtown, died October 5 in Danbury Hospital.

She was born in Bridgeport, March 13, 1923, daughter of the late Stanley and Marion (O’Neil) Makuck. She was educated in Bridgeport and graduated from Central High School. She attended Radiology School in New York City and worked as an X-ray technician until she married her husband.

She was a resident of Newtown for 52 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Douglas Burns of Ocean Spring, Miss. and Stephen Burns of New Canaan; two daughters, Nadine Burns of Southbury and Tami Crain of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one sister, Mildred Horbert of Royal Palms, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services were held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, at the convenience of the family.
