Alan R.            Robbins

Active Milford Citizen

Alan R. Robbins, 70, a resident of Milford and husband of Mary Jane Smith Robbins, died January 24. A son of Karl and Mary Blumel Robbins, he was born in Cleveland, Ohio, November 14, 1940.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his three children, including Allison Elkow, and her husband Chris, of Newtown; and a brother, Richard, and his wife Eileen, of Victoria, Australia. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren.

Mr Robbins was owner of National Chemical Industries. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the Milford Public Works Department. He served the town of Milford on the Charter Revision Commission, Police Facilities Building Committee, and was a past police commissioner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 29, at 10:30 am, at St Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford. Committal will be at St Mary Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call Friday, January 28, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Mary School, 70 Gulf Street, Milford CT 06460, or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
