Abolition Days: Two Programs

On The Death Penalty In Connecticut

Trinity Episcopal Church will host a pair of presentations, open to the public, in the hour between its second and third regular services on Sundays, February 6 and 13. Each presentation will begin at 10 am.

“Abolition Day: A Campaign to End the Death Penalty” programs will be led by Ben Jones, executive director, Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty (CNADP).

On February 6, Mr Jones will present CNADP’s perspective on the flaws of the death penalty system, the history of the death penalty in Connecticut and opportunities for groups and individuals to respond. Attendees will also learn more about the involvement by the Connecticut Episcopal Diocese’s involvement in the Abolition Day Campaign.

The program on February 13 will feature a film on the death penalty, which will launch a discussion on these key issues: what did we learn, how does this apply to our faith community, and what does the church say about the death penalty?
