Free Family Movie Matinee
DANBURY â Remember Saturday afternoon at the movies? Remember when it was a special treat to go with your whole family to a movie matinee?
The Palace Theatre does, and with partner Dental Associates of Connecticut, it wants to bring back the magic of a Saturday matinee with a free screening of My Dog Skip. The 2000 film will be presented on Saturday, January 29, at 1 pm, and no tickets are necessary.
The film is based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Willie Morris, with Mr Morris an adult looking back on his childhood in the early 1940s and how it was colored by his dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Skip. The film features Frankie Muniz as the young Willie Morris, Kevin Bacon as his gruff, proud father, Diane Lane as his charismatic, talkative mother, Luke Wilson as the local sports hero who befriends Willie before being drafted to go to war, and Enzo as the title character who becomes the young boyâs best friend.
The theater is at 165 Main Street in Danbury, For additional information call 203-794-9944 or visit ThePalaceDanbury.com.
