Go Red Day
Go Red Day
To the Editor
The Newtown VNA invites everyone to join the Movement to Go Red for Women to raise Newtownâs awareness about Womenâs Heart Health and wear Red on Friday, February 4. The VNA will be distributing Womenâs Heart Health information throughout Newtown to inform as many people as possible about the signs of heart attacks. Information will be available at the Newtown Municipal Center, Senior Center, Edmond Town Hall, Childrenâs Adventure Center, the Drug Center, the library and the Newtown VNA Thrift Shop.
The Newtown VNA reminds people that womenâs heart attack signs include:
Chest discomfort. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain;
Discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach;
Shortness of breath, with or without chest discomfort;
Cold sweats, nausea, or lightheadedness.
The American Heart Association strongly urges anyone with chest discomfort, especially with one or more of the other signs, not to wait longer than five minutes before calling 911 for help.
Everyone is urged to Go Red and Wear Red on February 4 to raise awareness about Womenâs Heart Health.
