The Colonial Wars
In Connecticut
BROOKFIELD â On Monday, March 7, at 7:30 pm, Brookfield Museum & Historical Society will host âThe Colonial Wars in Connecticut,â continuing its ongoing American Military Forum series.
The program will be offered by Harlan Jessup, the director of genealogical research for Cyrenius H. Booth Library in Newtown. Mr Jessup will present a discussion on Connecticutâs Colonial Wars. The talk will focus on the Pequot War, King Philipâs War, and the French and Indian Wars. It will also touch upon the impact of the French and Indian Wars in the greater Danbury area.
Mr Jessup is the editor of the journal of Connecticut Ancestry Society and a member of The Connecticut Professional Genealogists Society. His genealogical interests have led him to find the stories of ancestors, both his own and those of others, who fought in all three of these conflicts.
Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.
The museum is at 165 Whisconier Road, at the corner of Routes 25 and 133 in Brookfield Center. Call 203-740-8140 for additional information.
