NHS Swimmers Cap Season With 96-84 Win Over Weston

Newtown High School’s boys’ swimming and diving team ended the regular season with a 96-84 win at Weston on February 16. Top NHS finishers are as follows:

200 Yard Medley Relay: First, Sean Fahey, Mike Hubbard, Nick Lafky, Abben Hung 1:48.17

200 Freestyle: Second, Conor Donnelly 1:55.40; third, Logan Mammen 2:05.52

200 Individual Medley: First, Nick Lafky 2:10.16; third, Harrison Buzzi 2:32.87

50 Free: First, Dan Hufziger 23.05; Second, Abben Hung 23.33

Diving: First, Maggie Korth 198.9; Third, Sam Frietas 167.625

100 Butterfly: Second, Nick Lafky 58.33

100 Free: First, Dan Hufziger 50.90; third, Logan Mammen 57.03

500 Free: First, Conor Donnelly 5:13.44; third, George Delia 5:33.85

200 Free Relay: First, Abben Hung, Logan Mammen, Mike Hubbard, Dan Hufziger 1:35.83

100 Backstroke: Second, Sean Fahey 1:04.32

100 Breaststroke: Second, Abben Hung 1:05.70; third, Mike Hubbard 1:09.94

400 Free Relay: First, Dan Hufziger, Nick Lafky, Logan Mammen, Conor Donnelly 3:35.82

The NHS divers will compete in the South-West Conference Championships on Wednesday, March 2, and the swimmers will hit the water in the SWC championships on March 4 — both events are at 6 pm at Masuk High School in Monroe.
