By Andrew Gorosko
Police this week arrested a local man, charging him with 12 crimes in connection with three burglaries that occurred recently at homes on Platts Hill Road, Chimney Swift Drive, and Valley Field Road North.
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Eammon Donnelly, 30, of 17 Castle Meadow Road turned himself over to police at the police station at 6:30 am on November 13.
Police said they arrested Donnelly on three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree larceny, three counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and three counts of conspiracy to commit burglary.
Police held Donnelly on $75,000 bail for his arraignment on that day in Danbury Superior Court.
At his arraignment, Donnelly did not enter pleas to the charges. He was released from custody on $50,000 bail. His next court appearance in the case is slated for December 12.
Police have said that sometime between 10 am and 12:30 pm on October 5, someone burglarized a Platts Hill Road home, near White Oak Farm Road, and stole a jewelry box containing some jewelry as well as a Dell-brand portable computer. No one was home at the time.
Also, police have said that during the daytime on October 1, home break-ins occurred on Chimney Swift Drive, off Riverside Road, and on Valley Field Road North, off Alberts Hill Road.
Both burglaries occurred when there were no residents at home. In both cases, a rear window of the home was smashed in and entry was gained to the premises. In both burglaries, jewelry was stolen. Police learned of the crimes after the residents returned home and found evidence of the break-ins.
On October 23, Monroe police arrested Donnelly, charging him with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny in connection with a series of Monroe burglaries/larcenies. Donnelly has not pleaded to those charges. He is free on $35,000 bail. He is scheduled to next appear on December 5 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
On November 5, Westport police arrested Donnelly on multiple burglary and larceny charges. He is free on $10,000 bail on those charges and was scheduled to next appear in Norwalk Superior Court on November 15. He has not pleaded to those charges.
On October 19, Monroe police charged Conner Buckley, 20, of Shelton with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree larceny. Buckley has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
Newtown police have been participating with Monroe police in an investigation into the alleged conspiratorial criminal activities of Buckley and Donnelly.
Buckley has a total of six cases pending against him in Bridgeport Superior Court. The charges against Buckley were filed by police in several towns.
Buckley was being held on $100,000 bail this week at the Manson Youth Institution in Cheshire. He is scheduled to next appear in court on December 17.
