A Championship Season

To the Editor:

I want to congratulate the girls and coaches of the Newtown High School Varsity Basketball program for bringing championship basketball back to Newtown — winning the SWC Division for the first time in many years. They played 25 games and won 21 — 14 in a row at one stretch.

Along with a new gym and a new coaching staff came a new championship team! Congratulations to Taylor, Jess, Riley, Erin, Bridget, Maddy, Abbey, Carly, Sam, Sarah, Kristiana, Cassie, Tressa, and Coaches O’Connell, Kelley, Murphy, Carbone, and Colley.
