Beloved Son

And Brother

James A. Saunders III, 49, of Newtown, died unexpectedly, March 18. He was born July 4, 1961, in Burgaw, N.C.

He is survived by his mother, Edith A. Saunders, and stepfather, Dick Reed, of Newtown; his father, James A. Saunders, Jr, and stepmother, Gemme Saunders, of Jupiter, Fla.; his sister, Sharon Dauchot, her husband, Robert, and their son, Devon; and his grandmother, Helen A. Saunders of Burgaw, N.C. He is also survived by his loving caregivers at Squire Court, who were his extended family.

Mr Saunders graduated from Newtown High School in 1980. He attended Eastern Connecticut State University. In March of 1983, he was in an automobile accident that left him traumatically brain injured. For the last 14 years, he has been a client of Ability Beyond Disability, living in a group home.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly prefers donations may be made in his name to Ability Beyond Disability, The Leir Pavilion, 4 Berkshire Boulevard, Bethel CT 06801.

Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street  in Newtown, was in charge of arrangements.
