Town Targeted For Lawsuit
A local man has filed a notice of his intention to sue the town in connection with a fall he took while using the elevator in Edmond Town Hall.
In the notice, attorney Michael DâAmico, who represents Edward Montray of 32 Hanover Road, declares Mr Montrayâs intention to sue the town in connection with a May 15 incident at the town hall.
According to the notice, about 12:15 pm on May 15, Mr Montray was leaving an American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) meeting which was being held on the third floor of the building at 45 Main Street.
 Mr Montray, his wife and two other women entered the elevator to descend to the first floor, according to the document.
âWhen the elevator came to a complete stop on what was believed to be the first floor, the claimant opened the gate, then the elevator door, and stepped out. The claimant was then caused to fall to the ground because the elevator was approximately 15 inches above the first floor ground level,â according to the notice.
According to the notice, Mr Montray sustained serious injuries including lower left side back pain, hip pain, back pain, lumbar strain/sprain, right and left knee pain, neck pain, chest pain, emotional upset and sleeplessness.
