Kali Alise Santarpia, daughter of Peter Santarpia of Cheshire and Anita Holtz of Sandy Hook, a sophomore in the Honors College at Towson University in Maryland, earned Dean’s List honors for fall 2003. A recipient of the Towson University Provost Scholarship recognizing an undergraduate with outstanding potential, Kali is also the beneficiary of a Volunteer of the Year award from Ashlar of Newtown as well as three Newtown Scholarship Association awards.

Majoring in Gerontology, she is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was also named in the 2002–03 National Dean’s List, honoring the top one percent of undergraduates from the nation’s 3,000 colleges and universities.

Additionally, Kali is a member of Towson’s chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. The 2002 Newtown High School graduate was captain of the varsity cheerleaders and girls’ tennis team.
