Bridle Lands Association Holds Membership Social
The Newtown Bridle Lands Association held its annual Membership Social in late April at The Newtown Meeting House. In attendance were both new and renewing members along with State Representative Debra Lee Hovey.
Representatives of the Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard including First Lieutenant Elizabeth Milazzo, Sergeant William Goessinger, Staff Sergeant Flavio Rosa, Sergeant Karen deFriesse, First Lieutenant Colonel Steven deFriesse, Private First Class Bonnie Cypher, Private First Class Edward Anuszewski, and Private First Class Anthony Farina were also present.
Sgt deFrisse and Staff Sgt Rosa discussed the activities and services that the 2GHG provides and reviewed pieces of basic tack and equipment. Pfc Anuszewski explained the different uniforms the Horse Guard wears, depending on the activity in which they are participating. Sgt Goessinger wore the traditional colonial uniform and discussed the battle conditions soldiers faced in the past. 1LTC Steven deFriesse gave a brief summary of the Guardâs 200 year history, including recent events they have taken part in while located in Newtown. A question and answer period followed. Representative Hovey also took questions and reviewed the current status of the 2GHG.Â
The 2011 NBLA board of directors was introduced and the tentative schedule was announced for the upcoming year by NBLA President Sally Feuerberg.
Lucy Prybylski, NBLAâs vice president, provided the hospitality for the evening and Jami Wallace chaired the event. Manning the membership table were Alisa Stollman, membership chairperson, and Bob Feuerberg, treasurer. Coordinating and organizing the social were Andrea Brosnan, Anita Lucsky, Gail Bunovsky, Sue Newbury, Stephanie Lennon; the NBLAâs board of directors, along with Doreen Chiccarello who serves as the NBLA secretary.Â
