NHS Golfers Top New Milford, Fall To Pomperaug

Newtown High School’s boys’ golf team edged New Milford, shooting a 169 to New Milford’s 171, in a home match at the par 35 Rock Ridge Country Club on May 2.

Newtown then shot a 177 in a loss at Pomperaug of Southbury (165) at the par 36 Heritage Village Country Club on May 3. Newtown stands at 6-3 overall.

Against New Milford, Brian LeBlanc led the Nighthawks by shooting a 40, Chris Erikson followed with a 42, Rob Marona had a 43, and Abbey Doski shot a 44.

Doski was Newtown’s top golfer against 8-1 Pomperaug as she shot a 42. Leblanc shot a 43, Vivek Tedla had a score of 44, and Erikson shot a 48 in the match.
