Kaitlin Giselle Eckert of Sandy Hook was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in English-Literature during Salve Regina University’s 61st commencement on Sunday, May 15, in Newport, R.I. Kaitlin is a Pell Honors Program graduate and a member of Sigma Tau Delta international English honor society.

Michael Woessner of Sandy Hook graduated from York College of Pennsylvania, York, on May 14. Michael earned a bachelor of the arts degree in history from the college.

In Grove City, Penn., Timothy Kerr, son of Mr and Mrs David Kerr of Newtown, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2011 semester at Gove City College. Students eligible for the Dean’s List at the college earn a grade point average of 3.40 to 3.59.

Gregory John Pategas and Allan Y. Song, both of Sandy Hook, graduated from Quinnipiac University’s School of Law. The Hamden-based university held its commencement ceremony on May 15.

Christine D’Alessandro, a student at University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind., will participate in the Ambassador Peter F. Secchia Voyage of Discovery program, an all-expense-paid educational and cultural initiative that sends Italian-American students to Italy. The program is sponsored by the National Italian American Foundation, and the tour will visit Italy’s Campania region from May 30 to June 8.
