Helen T. Rowe

Loving Mother And Grandmother

Helen T. Rowe, 94, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Captain Edmund Rowe, died June 13, after a long and fruitful life. She was born in Akron, Ohio, September 10, 1916, a daughter of Theresa and Steve Luckas, who originally were from Hungary.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, including Carol Rowe from Newtown; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several friends.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1963, moving from California, she was a member of the Ridgefield PTA, a longtime volunteer at the Ridgefield Thrift Shop, and attended St Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she was active in the Church Guild. Mrs Rowe was extremely talented at making items that she would donate to charities. She always believed that busy hands were happy hands.

A memorial service was conducted June 23. Entombment will take place in the Crypt of St Stephen’s Church, Ridgefield.

Contributions in Mrs Rowe’s memory and honor may be made to St Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 351 Main Street, Ridgefield.

Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield, is in charge of arrangements.
