Joseph Augustine of Sandy Hook graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor of science degree in cinema and photography from the Roy H. Park School of Communications. He had a concentration in cinema production. He is a graduate of Southington High School.

Lindsey M. Korotash of Newtown was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2000 semester at Bates College. A first year student, she is the daughter of Mark and Lynda Korotash of Shepard Hill Road. Lindsey is a member of the women’s varsity lacrosse team and the women’s rugby club. She is a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School.

Midshipman Justin Davis of Sandy Hook has been named to the superintendent’s list for the spring 2000 semester at United States Naval Academy. Justin is a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School and is a junior at the academy majoring in systems engineering. Justin has completed a summer assignment in the Western Pacific. His ports of call included Phuket, Thailand, along with Singapore, East Timor, and Guam. He is presently on his second summer assignment at the US Army Airborne School in Fort Benning, Georgia.

Marine Corps Pvt Matthew R. Jessup, son of Caroline R. Jessup of Hanover Road in Newtown, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Matthew successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new marine recruits both physically and mentally. He also received instruction on the Marine Corps’ core values: honor, courage, and commitment. He is a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School.

Newtown resident Sarah D. Gardner received her bachelor of arts degree recently from Keene State College in New Hampshire.

Gabrielle Naglieri, daughter of Mr and Mrs John E. Naglieri of Newtown, was named to Assumption College’s dean’s list for the spring 2000 semester. She is in the class of 2003 and is currently registered as an undecided major.

Shelby Luczak, daughter of Alexander and Mary Delucia of Brookfield and John and Vicky Luczak of Roxbury, graduated from Ohio State University on the dean’s list for the spring semester. She will attend City University of New York Law School in August. Shelby is the granddaughter of Frank and Miriam DeLucia of Hyvue Drive in Newtown.

Johanna Lask

Johanna Lask, a Newtown High School alumnus, recently graduated with a masters degree from the University of Virginia. She received her masters degree in speech pathology. Johanna graduated magna cum laude from UNCG for her undergraduate bachelors of science degree in 1998 and will now be practicing in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

Newtown residents Lindsey Malloy, Heather Reed, Kristina Petretti, Krista Bell and Erin Cavanaugh were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Providence College.

Amy Grabowski was named to dean’s list at University of Maryland for the spring 2000 semester. She is a 1997 graduate of Newtown High School.
