U14 Girls
CHAOS 0, Rockets 0: The Rockets ended their season with a spirited, hard-fought effort. All 13 girls played sharp and aggressive games on both ends of the field for 80 minutes. For the CHAOS, contributing to the fight were Anna Baxter, Marissa Liberante, Emma Brantl, Emily Toby, and Keira Veillette in the midfield, Allie Indelicato and Danielle Agugliaro on offense; and holding the defensive line were Margot Elkins and Kayla DiSibio. The CHAOS ended the year with a 15-1-1 record.
U10 Boys
Nuggets 4, Westport 4: Tyler Dickinson pressured the goalie with a nice shot, and was able to get his own rebound and scored the first goal. The midfield, including Miles Martiska and Aiden Schmid, continually sent the ball forward, allowing Colin Dunn to break through the Westport defense to score the second goal. Brian Montoya and Sean Connor kept the Westport forwards in check by clearing the ball. Corey Furrier also lent a hand with some nice defensive plays, and Harvey Long made a nice pass to Colin Dunn, for an assist, giving Newtown a 3-1 lead. In the second half, Westport fought back and cut Newtownâs lead to 3-2. Isaac Silverman prevented Westport from scoring again by clearing the ball before they reached Newtownâs standout goalie Thomas Hartley. Colin Dunn gave the Nuggets another goal as he scored his first hat-trick, putting Newtown up 4-2. The lead was short-lived as Westport scored a quick goal. Corey Furrier and Harvey Long had shots but couldnât break through and Westport tied the score late in the contest, forcing a tie in a hard fought, suspenseful game.
