Burglary Arrest
Burglary Arrest
On July 27, police arrested Robert Kelley, 38, of New Milford on a warrant on charges of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, and third-degree criminal mischief.
Police said the charges stem from a burglary that occurred about 12:57 am on January 31 at Hawleyville Deli, a convenience store at 26 Hawleyville Road (Route 25). Police had responded to a burglar alarm that was tripped by the intruder at the store.
The burglar had gained entry to the building by forcing open the front door of the business.
The sixth-degree larceny charge indicates that the value of items stolen was less than $500.
Police said an investigation led to them identify Kelley as a suspect, after which they applied for an arrest warrant from Danbury Superior Court, receiving it on July 20.
Kelley was released on $500 bail for an August 11 court appearance.
