Artist And Woodbury Native Is Opening

A New Contemporary Art Gallery

WOODBURY — On Saturday, November 6, heralding the opening of Fenn Gallery of Contemporary Art, the public is invited to an open house from 2 to 6 pm by its owner/artist, Pamela Siemon.

For the grand opening, Ms Siemon has selected a showing of seven artists who begin to represent the scope of creativity that will be showcased at Fenn in the future.

“I want Fenn Gallery to be a place where artists can share their creative vision, verbally as well as visually,” expressed Ms Siemon. At least five of the artists are expected to attend the opening event at 345 Main Street. The group exhibit will run for five weeks.

Artist in the gallery’s inaugural presentation are Jorge Blanco, a Venezuelan sculptor whose crisp and colorful geometric forms are icons of joyful élan; Ivy Dachman from New York, whose abstract work examines form, color and illusion; Deborah Waimon of Connecticut, who reinterprets plant structure through her woodblock prints; and Jack Lardis from Indiana, whose large, cropped portraits of celebrities are alluring and mysterious.

Also represented are Michael Patterson from Roxbury, a Cubist-influenced painter of lively and evocative figures; Julie Hickcox of Woodbury, an expressionist whose paintings are both vibrant and bucolic; and Rita Baragona, a New Jersey artist who paints highly energized florals in acrylic on paper.

Pamela Siemon, a Woodbury resident for 27 years, is married with two boys and has a diverse background in marketing, law and art. Since closing her successful law practice eight years ago to care for her children, Ms Siemon has continued her studies in art and painting.

Earlier this year, Ms Siemon jumped at the opportunity to lease space in an enchanting old Victorian, where she could pursue her vision of artistic expression with the community.

“It’s very exciting for me to bring fresh and provocative new work by these renowned contemporary artists to Woodbury,” she says. “The Fenn Gallery is more than just selling art; it will also serve to build cultural community and promote art education. My goal is to provide every visitor with an enriching experience at Fenn Gallery.”

Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm. For further information, call 203-263-3449.
