Preschoolers ‘Move Up’ At Wesley Learning Center

Wesley Learning Center’s 3- and 4-year olds celebrated “moving up” in a special ceremony on June 2.

The “graduates” will be attending elementary school programs throughout Newtown and beyond.

Wesley Learning Center’s Director Rhanna Peck coordinated “an entertaining, funny and touching ceremony,” said parent Donna White.

After singing a selection of songs including “We’ve Got the Whole World In Our Hands” and “Herman the Worm,” the teachers distributed day-glo star-shaped sunglasses to the children.

Donning the glasses with excitement, the tots engaged in a rock and roll rendition of “The Three Little Pigs.”

The children had two graduation caps, one white with coordinating robes, the second with their handprints imprinted on top. 

Ms Peck showed parents a video montage chronicling the children’s adventures at Wesley Learning Center throughout the year.

After receiving their certificates of completion, the children sang “Going to Kindergarten” and “Goodbye” for their finale.

Graduates from Ms Cavanaugh and Ms Breitling’s class: Adam Beckett, Arianna DellaCorte, Patrick Flynn, Zachary Fuchs, Calista Giroux, Timothy Jaeger, Grant Larson, Braden Marcinek, Owen McInerney, Elliot Moore, Kayla O’Sullivan, Collin Tod, Sean Wallace, and Caitlin White.

Graduates from Ms Daniels and Ms Del Vento’s class: Erik Benson, Kelly Daly, Savannah Davidow, Lauren Granville, Michael Greenspan, Talia Hankin, Nicholas Hebert, Jason Hebner, Reilly Jordan, Ian Klepacki, Michael Liberante, Megan Nahmias, and Scott Soifer
