Arrest Made On Weapons Charge
Police said they responded to the area of Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street about 5:20 pm May 30 in response to a report that there was a suicidal man nearby.
Police said they located that man in a field between the shopping center and Trinity Episcopal Church, after which they charged Quentin Ham, 22, of North Richland Hills, Texas, with carrying a pistol without a permit, second-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace.
Police said they lodged the reckless endangerment charge because Ham for a time had left a pistol and some ammunition unattended in a place where a passerby could have gotten access to the weapon and bullets.
Police said they held Ham on $50,000 bail for a court arraignment on the charges.
Following his June 2 arraignment, Ham was being held on $20,000 bail on June 3 at Bridgeport Correctional Center for a June 16 court appearance.
