50th Newtown Labor Day Parade (rescheduled following Tropical Storm Irene), steps off 2 pm, from Main Street at Hanover Road, Grand Marshal Lee W. Glover will return to reprise role he held for first parade, leading Newtownâs fire companies and bands, school and local groups and clubs, dancers, floats, military vehicles, politicians, and much more, including debut of Newtown Police Department Honor Color Guard, and more, with refreshments and vendors, parade route follows Main Street to Glover Avenue, then northwest onto Queen Street, ending at Church Hill Road.
