Program Geared To Book Clubs And Book Lovers

The book loving public is invited to a celebration of books Thursday, October 6, at 7 pm, in the Meeting Room of the C.H. Booth Library. Hear what local book clubs have to say about their favorite books and times together. Learn about great online review resources, pick up some “book group tested and approved” reading lists, plus find out what friends and neighbors read this summer.

Additionally, several of the local area’s literary notables will be participating in the event, including Vinton McCabe, book reviewer at the New York Journal of Books. Mr McCabe is a published novelist, a produced playwright, and an award-winning poet with more than 30 years’ experience in print and electronic journalism.

Georgia Monaghan, editor of the recently launched Newtowner Magazine will share some of her experiences starting a local arts and literary journal, as well revealing the editorial staff’s highly recommended books, short stories, and poems.

Another renowned book lover is Margi Esten, who produces “Margi’s List,” an indispensable tool for all avid readers. Ms Esten will unveil her list for the fall of 2011, with some surprising picks.

Literary themed snacks will be on hand for the evening of fellowship and fun. Jot down the title of favorite recent reads, and join in an inspiring evening.

This night is both for book group members and those of us who enjoy books as a more solitary pleasure. The program is free and there is room for all.

Register online at www.chboothlibrary.org, or by calling the C.H. Booth Library at 203-426-4533.
