Garner Inmate Arrested
On Assault Charge
State police report that they responded to Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road, on September 27 after receiving a report that an inmate had assaulted a correction officer.
State police said that after investigating, they determined that Garner inmate Vincent Turnbull, 40, had allegedly spit in the face of a 38-year-old male correctional lieutenant.
Turnbull was arrested on charges of assault on a public safety officer and failure to submit to fingerprinting, state police said.
Turnbull was arraigned on the charges on September 28 in Danbury Superior Court, where he is slated to return on October 7 to enter pleas to the two charges.
Turnbull is serving a six-month sentence at Garner on a conviction for assault on a public safety officer in connection with a past incident.
