Main Street Crosswalk
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Main Street at the crosswalk near Edmond Town Hall about 6 pm on September 29.
Motorist Moreen Donahue, 65, of Trumbull, who was driving a 2006 Lexus RX-400-H SUV southward on Main Street, stopped at the crosswalk to allow pedestrians there to cross the street, police said.
Southbound motorist Richard Schneiderman, 55, of 4 Sutherland Drive, who was driving a 1999 Honda Accord sedan, then struck the rear end of the Lexus, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Schneiderman an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Property Damage
Sometime between 3 pm on October 1, and 9:50 am on October 2, someone vandalized multiple curbside residential mailboxes in the area of Oak Ridge Road and Eden Hill Road, police report. Both streets extend from Hattertown Road. Officer John McCluskey is investigating the vandalism and asks anyone with knowledge of the crimes to contact him at the police station at 203-426-5841.
DUI Arrest
Police report that at about 6:30 pm on September 30, they spotted motorist Matthew Titus, 22, of Oakville driving 50 miles per hour in a posted 30-mph zone on Wasserman Way, near Trades Lane.
 Police said they stopped Titus to investigate, after which they charged him with driving under the influence and with traveling too fast.
After processing, Titus was released from custody on $100 bail for an October 13 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, according to police.
Three Charges
At about 9:25 pm on October 2, police received a complaint concerning an alleged theft that had occurred at an industrial property on High Bridge Road, near the Monroe town line.
Police said they investigated and found that Christina Brague, 37, of 24 Toddy Hill Road had been in possession of some scrap metal allegedly taken from the industrial property.
Police said they charged Brague with sixth-degree larceny, criminal trespassing, and misuse of marker plates. After processing, police released Brague on $500 bail for an October 18 court appearance.
SUV Rollover
Police said that motorist Malita Meade, 30, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV in wet conditions westward on Wasserman Way, near its intersection with Mile Hill Road South, at about 5:10 pm on September 28, went into a skid and then rolled over, landing upside down along the right side of the road after striking a chain-link fence.
Neither Meade nor a passenger were injured. Police said Meade received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions. (A photo of this accident was published in the September 30, 2011, edition of The Bee).
SUV Accident
About 10:30 pm on September 29, a 1996 GMC Jimmy SUV driven by motorist Conor Carty, 18, of Trumbull, went out of control near 86 Main Street, spun around and then struck some curbing, police report.
Carty was not injured. Police issued Carty an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.
Rear-Ender
A two-car accident occurred at the intersection of Berkshire Road and Wasserman Way about 3 pm September 30.
Police report that motorist David Morgan, 50, of Monroe, who was driving a 2008 Audi A-4 sedan, stopped at the intersection for a traffic signal, after which the Audi was struck from behind by motorist Karsten Trillhaase, 65, of 6 Sutherland Drive, who was driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 430 coupe.
There were no injuries. Trillhaase received a written warning for following too closely, police report.
Botsford Crash
Motorist Brian Murphy, 51, of Glastonbury, who was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata sedan, stopped at the intersection of South Main Street and Button Shop Road about 12:42 pm on September 30, and was then struck from behind by motorist Roberta Clonan, 86, of Southbury, who was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said Clonan received a written warning for following too closely.
Convertibles Collide
Police report a two-car accident near 151 South Main Street about 1:43 pm on September 30.
Motorist Gabrielle Rivera, 24, of Bridgeport was driving a 2002 Saab 93 convertible northward on South Main Street, police said.
At that time, motorist Rennis Easter, 61, of 57 Turkey Hill Road, who was driving a 1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible, was in the parking lot at 151 South Main Street and was waiting to make a left turn onto southbound South Main Street, police said.
A northbound noncontact vehicle, which was traveling in front of the Saab, then stopped to allow the Chrysler to make the left turn, police said.
As the Chrysler turned left and entered the southbound lane, the Saab was traveling northward in the southbound lane in attempting to pass the noncontact vehicle on the left, police said.
The Saab and the Chrysler collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said Rivera received an infraction for passing in a no-passing zone.
