Cheryl Ann Amaral and Jeffrey Chad Shea were married Saturday, August 3, 2002, at 10 am in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, with the Reverend Robert Weiss officiating.
A reception following the ceremony was held at the Inn at Longshore Country Club on West Compo Road, Westport.
The bride is the daughter of Daniel J. and Carol M. Amaral of 41 Elm Drive, Newtown, and the groom is the son of Geraldine Shea of Pawtucket, R.I., and Paul Shea (deceased).
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Daniel.
She wore a floor-length, sleeveless, white silk gown made in Canada. The bodice had powder blue embroidery and silver threading. Small pearl beads and crystal sequins were hand-sewn on the bodice. She wore a two-length chapel veil attached to a tiara. Her bouquet contained pink roses and blue hydrangea.
Matron of honor was Cynthia Stierle, sister of the bride, from Sandy Hook. She wore a sleeveless, floor-length gown of powder blue satin. Her bouquet had pink roses and blue hydrangea.
Brideâs attendants were: Catherine Freitas, sister of the bride, of Sandy Hook; Tracey Dickie, sister of the groom, of Smithfield, R.I.; Lisa Kase, friend of the bride, of Newton, Mass.; and Jeannine Hunt, friend of the bride, of Cambridge, Mass.
The brideâs attendants wore floor-length, sleeveless powder blue satin gowns and carried bouquets of pink roses with blue hydrangea.
Best man was Michael Shea, brother of the groom, of Huntington Beach, Calif.
Ushers were: Kevin Shea, brother of the groom, of North Attleboro, Mass.; Bill Dickie, brother-in-law of the groom, of Smithfield, R.I.; Sean Cavanaugh, friend of the groom, of Providence, R.I.; and Jeffrey Mahoney, friend of the groom, of Walpole, Mass.
Junior attendants were: Flower girl, Samantha Freitas, niece of the bride, of Sandy Hook; ring bearer, Billie Dickie, nephew of the groom, of Smithfield, R.I.; Sacramentary Mass Book, Joshua Freitas, nephew of the bride, of Sandy Hook; and flowers for Blessed Mother Statue, Michael Stierle, nephew of the bride, of Sandy Hook.
The bride attended St Rose of Lima Elementary School, Class of 1986, and Immaculate High School in Danbury, Class of 1990. She graduated from the Providence College, Class of 1994, with a degree in accountancy.
She was employed at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Hawthorne, N.Y., as sales analysis and planning manager, then transferred to the office of Coca-Cola Enterprises of Southern California (L.A.) as division internal control manager, to do auditing.
The groom attended St Raphaelâs elementary and high school in Pawtucket, R.I., and Providence College, R.I., Class of 1994, with a bachelorâs degree in history. He attended Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law with the Class of 1997 in Washington, D.C., graduating with a JD degree.
He is a lawyer in Los Angeles, Calif.
The couple took a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, and they are living in Hermosa Beach, Calif.
