Parenting Presentation Scheduled For October 11
The Newtown Parent Connection, Inc and The Newtown Prevention Council have scheduled a presentation called, âYour Child Is Your Mirror: What Do You See?â for Tuesday, October 11, at 7 pm, at Newtown Middle School.
The event is free and is described in a release as âan evening of engaging conversation and discussion on how to understand childrenâs various developmental stages and unique, individual temperaments and how to better communicate and encourage responsibility in all children, even the very young.â
Parent University presenter Alex Boianghu, a school counselor at Whisconier Middle School and a private therapist at Insight Counseling, will speak on topics including whether time-outs and punishments work, whether it is easier sometimes to give in, and how parentâs buttons are pushed time and again.
The forum will address the topic of âConnective Parenting,â the premise that a child is âhavingâ a problem not âbeingâ the problem and balancing the needs of the child and all other members of the family.
