Race Was A Great Community Event

To the Editor:

On behalf of the race organizers, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the runners, sponsors, and volunteers of the sixth annual Newtown Road Race 5K.

While cooler temperatures and a light rain kept a few people away, many braved the elements on Saturday, October 1, to participate in a great community event.

Several town departments help us pull this race off every year and we would like to extend special thanks to the Newtown Police Department, Highway Department and Parks & Recreation for their cooperation.  Once again, thanks to The Newtown Bee for its usual great coverage of the race.
