Bowing Out Of Halloween
Bowing Out
Of Halloween
To the Editor:
My family and I have had a wonderful time providing Halloween fun for the thousands of children and parents who come to trick-or-treat on Main Street each year. Unfortunately, due to health issues we have come to the decision to gracefully bow out of further participation.
We ask that you publish this letter to let the Newtown community know that we will not be decorating our home with the big spider web or handing out candy this year because we donât want children to come to our home and be disappointed that it is not decorated as usual. The candy that has already been donated to us will be placed in the donation bin at the Big Y supermarket and we ask that any candy that was intended to help defray the cost of Halloween for us be instead donated to the Big Y.
We hope that the other homeowners on Main Street will continue to decorate their homes and continue this wonderful tradition for the Newtown community. Thank you very much this was a difficult decision and we apologize if we have disappointed anyone.
Sincerely,
Richard Mulligan & Family
