CMC Has Opening For Soprano

The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, has an opening for a soprano voice for the upcoming 2006-07 concert season. Performances are scheduled for November, March and May, accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra.

The Chorale will present its annual Holiday Prelude Concert on November 19, where it will feature music with steel drums, brass ensemble, spirituals, gospel, multi-cultural numbers and other festive selections.

On March 11, 2007, the Chorale will perform Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus and his newly released Requiem. Mr Jenkins has gained much recognition for his music used in TV and advertisements – most notably the “Diamond Music,” and the choral music on the Delta Airlines commercials (Adiemus). His Requiem was just published in 2005. Also on the program will be the exuberant Bless Ye the Lord by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

“A Caribbean Mass” by Glenn McClure will be the featured work in the chorale’s May 2007 performance, accompanied by a steel band.

The holiday concert is usually performed in Bethel. The March and May events will be at St Rose of Lima in Newtown.

Rehearsals for the 2006-07 season begin in September and are held on Tuesday evenings at South Britain Congregational Church in Southbury.

The Connecticut Master Chorale, founded by Ms Heidrich in 1999, is a premier ensemble of 55 high caliber voices in the western Connecticut area. In addition to its regular three-concert season, the chorale has performed at The White House, three times at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden and West Point Military Academy, all by invitation.
