Anthony Michael Gigliotti, 95, of Danbury, died quietly Tuesday morning, May 11 at Hancock Hall after a short illness. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle â Anthonyâs life is celebrated with love and respect.
He was born in Danbury on July 2, 1908, to Philomena (Bruno) and Joseph Gigliotti. He attended Danbury schools and was a lifetime resident.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Michael, Samuel, and Frank.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife Mary Katherine (Hardie) Gigliotti. They were married 73 years. He was totally dedicated to his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Addessi and her husband Rick of Danbury; three grandchildren, Wayne Addessi and his wife Bernadette of Newtown, Deborah Bush of Danbury, and Carleen Baer and her husband Kenneth of Wellesley, Mass., six great-grandchildren, Nicole Bush, Lauren and Keith Baer, Meghan, Kathryn, and Thomas Addessi; two great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Bush and Anthony Nova; his sister, Rose Wilda of Danbury; a sister-in-law, Hermina Gigliotti of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Anthony worked in the food business his entire life. He spent many years at the Market Basket and Dandy Foods. In his younger days, Tonyâs hobbies included gardening and wine making with his father and son-in-law. He loved woodworking and enjoyed helping others whenever he could.
A Funeral Mass was scheduled to be held at St Josephâs Church on May 13 with burial to follow in St Peter Cemetery.
