Joseph Coates & Lisa Grossman

High school sweethearts Lisa Maria Grossman and Joseph Robert Coates became engaged while in Nantucket, Mass., on September 16. Nantucket has been a favorite vacation spot for the Grossman family since the 1980s. Lisa and Joseph both attended Newtown High School; she graduated in 2005 and he graduated in 2004.

Lisa is a daughter of John Grossman of Newtown and Gail Grossman of Bridgeport. She is a granddaughter of Dr Robert and the late Annamae Grossman.

A former student of Western Connecticut State University, Lisa is employed as a veterinary technician at Berkshire Veterinary Hospital.

Joseph, who is a son of David and Elaine Coates of Sandy Hook, is an automotive technician for Greentree Toyota.

A June 2013 wedding is being planned.
