Mind, Body, Spirit Expo Set For Sept. 19

When Trinity Productions presents its third annual Mind, Body, Spirit Expo at the Sheraton Hotel on Old Ridgebury Road in Danbury this Sunday, much of the emphasis will be on holistic healing, according to its local organizers.

“It will have more of a holistic flavor this year than in the past,” said Cindy Miller, president of Trinity Productions.

For the past three years, Trinity has sponsored this expo with great success. This year it will take place from 10 am to 5 pm on September 19 with more than 30 exhibitors showcasing their talents.

Admission to the expo is $10, which includes six free lectures during the day including “Where Are You on Your Spiritual Path and Are You on the Right Track?” by nationally known author Trudy Griswold. Participants also can attend special workshops throughout the day for $20 each. Tickets are available at the door or can be won by listening to Y105FM, the media sponsor for the expo.

“There will be many new vendors this year and more holistic people with an emphasis on alternative medicine,” said Nancy Lawrence, Trinity vice president and director of education and programming.

Among the metaphysical vendors and practitioners will be those involved with acupuncture, aura, angels, spirit guides, animal communication, body work-massage, reflexology, reiki, shamballa and angelic healing, chiropractic, coaching/weight loss, essential oils, flower essences and herbs, past lives, psychics, mediums, and spiritual artwork. There will be a 50 percent discount on New Age books.

Purple Moon will be returning with candles, jewelry, music, crystals, and other items from the Danbury store. There will be handmade jewelry and art, including spiritual art, medium art, and spirit guide drawings including soul impression drawings by visionary artist Barbara Besser of New Mexico.

Free lectures include “Angelic Healing” with master healer Nancy Ellany at 11 am; Trudy Griswold’s lecture at noon; “Animal Communion” with Carol Essig, pet psychic at 1 pm; “Celtic Shamanism” with Kathanna Knapp, teacher-healer, at 2 pm; “Evolution of Humanity” with Ryan Malgara, international lecturer, at 3 pm; and “Feng Shui for the 21st Century” at 4 pm.

Workshops include, at 11 am, releasing emotional blockages with essential oils, the UFO phenomenon, and psychic development; 1 pm, Trudy Griswold’s “How to Develop Your Spiritual ‘To Do’ List to Plan Your Spiritual Path,” “Past Lives with Your Angels” with Nancy Ellany, and “Your Birth Date and the Karmic Lessons” with intuitive astrologer Dee Randis.

Back by popular demand will be a special program, “Talking With Heaven,” with New York psychic Joan Carra; “Shamballa — Ancient Atlanean Healing Technique” with shamballa masters Phyliss Brooks and Nancy Ellany, and “Secrets of the Afterlife Revealed” with Loretta Chaney, referral psychic for James Van Praagh.

Trinity Productions is a nonprofit, interfaith organization dedicated to promoting spiritual awareness through education. It started with Kismet, a gathering of people from various backgrounds who met biweekly in the student center of Western Connecticut State University to hear speakers, have discussions, listen to inspiring music, and share area happenings.

“The expo is always exciting and very popular, of great benefit to us and to the public, but this year we also have a new program on cable television, The Human Odyssey, which deals with self-discovery and self-exploration including spiritual healing, near death experiences, and other topics,” Cindy Miller said.

The organization currently offer a wide variety of programs that have increased in popularity over the years. Among them are “Talking With Heaven and Spiritually Speaking,” both facilitated by Kathanna Knapp; “Sacred Grounds” and “The Other Side,” both facilitated by Cindy Miller; Nancy Lawraence’s “Touched By Angels,” now in its fifth year; and “A New You, Kismet, and the Trinity Learning Centre.” Many of the programs are held at Brookfield Commons, 246 Federal Road, in Brookfield; Kismet meets at the Union Buffet in Bethel once a month.

Trinity members are currently raising funds to open a facility to house all of their activities under one roof. Trinity believes that there is a strong need for people of all faiths to get in touch with their spirituality and find balance in their lives. By opening this facility, the organization’s members feel they will be able to help the local community explore a holistic approach to self-improvement in a peaceful setting.
