Mustangs 3, Team Number Two 0: Karsen Pirone had two goals and Kaitlyn King had one. Katherine Dirga had an assist and Angela Carriero and Justine Rengilian played well on defense. For Team Two, Ally Daoust played well on offense, Maddie Stites anchored the defense and Aniko Walsh had key saves in goal.
Wildcats 5, Cheetahs 1: The Wildcats were led by Kaley Meisenheimer with two goals, and Colleen Phaneuf, Carlie Smith and Shauna Tucker with one each. The whole team did a great job with strong ball movement and crisp passing. Defensively, the team was led by Morgan Seras and Shannon Jackman. For the Cheetahs, Jane Shearin did a great job on offense, as did Bella DeLorenzo and Zoe Bogan. Amanda Conrod, Hannah Ruhs and Julia Kanaan held the line on defense. Mary Sortino played well in goal.

Desserts 0, Shooting Stars 0: Olivia âSugarâ Elkins, Ally âSprinklesâ Tolson, Dylan âBrownieâ Zahansky and Isabella âIce Creamâ Manfredi combined to stop 13 shots and ensure the shutout for the Desserts. Jacklin âJelly Beanâ Gouviea was stellar on defense for the Desserts. For the Shooting Stars, Ally Toth, Katie Sailer and Simone Paradis all played strong offensively. Lindsey Gallagher and Julia Sullivan secured the midfield, while goalkeeper Janyce Toth kept the opponent scoreless.
Dynamites 5, Thundering Jaguars 2: The Dynamites scoring was led by Sarah Houle with three goals, and Veronica Vidola and Dani Gaiser with a goal each. Jackie Matthews led the defensive effort and Maddie Carter played a great overall game. The Thundering Jaguars were led by Alexis Manon and Bella Jimenez who scored goals. Greta Staubly played well defensively and Emma Stierle played a great overall game.
Lightning 5, Monkees 1: Emma Boland scored for the Monkees and Sarah Grant and Katelyn Henchcliffe played well on offense and defense. Haley Harkins, Sage Karp, Danny Otero, Sarah Tressler and Jenna Ehnot scored goals.
Jaguars 8, NewCanaan 0: Brooke Newton had the first goal and four assists. Sarah Stofko, Angela Halili and Emily Peters scored two each and Serena Kiss added a goal.

Mustangs 2, Lightning 1: The Lighting was led by Katie Reilly with goal assisted by Morgan Goldstein. Solid goaltending from Maya Neuhoff and strong midfield play by Lauren Villamana help pace the Lightning. Excellent passing in the second half by the Mustangs resulted in goals by Jillian Pieretti and Brianna Straiton. Megan Goyda and Lauren King played aggressive defense to secure the win.
Crushers 1, Lightning Bolts 1: Madison Pirone scored the Crushersâ goal. Amanda Albanesi played an outstanding midfield position. Alex Ferris showed great hustle at the forward position and Emily Booth made several outstanding defensive stops. For the Lightning Bolts, a second half goal to tie the game was scored by Kayla DiSibio. The Ringes sisters, Katerina and Maria were defensive standouts.
U12
Lightning 2, Simsbury 0 (State Cup game): Kelsey Muniz scored the first goal early in the first half. Megan Meyer had a great overall game at midfield, and she lofted one into the goal in the second half to clinch the lead for the Lightning. Amy Martinelli kept up the pressure on offense and Meg Korchman played well on defense. Goalies Kate Fallon and Dale Shearin were well prepared to defend the nets, but saw little action due to the strong play of their teammates.
Lightning 5, Ridgefield 0: Emily Riley scored off an assist by Siena Cicarelli, and Jessica Keller and Meaghan Brophy had one goal apiece. Sarah Lynch scored two as the Lightning brought home their fifth consecutive win. Michelle Zarifis played well at both ends of the field and Helene Sorensen was solid on defense. Kate Fallon and Megan Meyer were strong in the goal. The unbeaten Lightning are now first in the district, and have yet to allow a goal.

Twisters 3, Tidal Waves 2: For the Twisters, goals were scored by Lauren Sarna, Kat Jennings and Caitlin Filiato. Aspen Kraushaar had an assist. Anna Pinckney was strong in the goal. For the Tidal Waves, both goals were scored by Emily Grimes. Jen Davies. had an excellent game, Lexi Rodriguez played well on defnese and Alexandra Dittrich was solid in goal.
Earthquakes 4, Team Number Two 0: Sydney Allen, Cate Haggerty, Emily Jerris and Emily Papp each scored a goal for the Earthquakes. Team Two was led by Samantha Dion, Hannah Delia, Sierra Toomey, Emily Clark and Hannah Grant.
Cyclones 5, Tidal Waves 3: Jane Scalafani scored two goals and Jessie Principi, Emily Albrecht and Eliza Eggelston scored one goal each. Sara Lampel played well on attack and Lauren Meyer was strong on defense. For the Tidal Waves, goals were scored by Jamie Duncan, Emily Grimes and Jen Davies. Great all around play by Sierra Mather and strong defense played by Leah Bromberg and Marissa Liberante

Newtown Flash 2, Newington 1 (State Cup game): Lydia Beiter scored a goal assisted by Stephanie Roman. Brittany Tolla recovered a loose ball and scored on a breakaway. Zoe Eggleston and Jilliana Ciamarra were instrumental in getting the ball downfield. Newingtonâs offense was stopped repeatedly by the outstanding efforts of Julia Trudell and Bianca Solano. Goalkeeper Emily Brisson was strong.
Darien 4, Newtown Flash 1: Lydia Beiter lifted in an outside shot following a setup by Lindsay Jossick. Keily Kuligowski and Maria Biondi played aggressively on offense. Tressa Scott continued to make exceptional defensive plays for the Flash.

U6
Huskies Team 5, Blue Dragons 0: Steven Dooley, Justin DeThomas and Aidan Stout played tough defense for the Blue Dragons. The Huskies had goals from Atilla Sepkin, Harry Kelchner and William Swierbut. Will Tainter, John Ford and Ryan Farrell gave the Blue Dragons a strong offensive performance, but Steven Vournazos, William Crebbin and Trevor Merrick were stingy on defense for the Huskies.
LightningThunder 3, Nighthawks 0: Jack Stanton scored two goals and J.P. Iaropoli added another one for the LightningThunder. Brayden Deraney and Steven Cheh led the defensive effort and Ryan Kovacs played great in the goal. Devin Johnson led a great team effort by the Nighthawks.
Team Number Nine 3, Fire Balls 2: Thomas Armstrong had two goals and Zachary Masone scored one goal in the win. Wright Frost played great as goalie. The strong defensive effort was led by Max Wrage, Ethan Romano and Jake Pare. The Fire Balls had a great game with Hunter Kirman scoring a goal, and Sawyer Findley playing well as goalie. Michael Haddick was great on defense and Nick Preszler played a strong game on offense.

Hurricanes 2, Blue Hurricanes 1: Mathew Gerbo and Luke Barrett each scored one goal apiece for the Hurricanes. Adam Bergeron and Sean McKinley both had great defensive games. Goalie Sean Arnold made some big saves for the Hurricanes. Adam Farley scored in the loss. On defense, Justin Jarvis and Benjamin Taylor played well for the Blue Hurricanes. Keeper Silas Decker made big saves.
Tiger Sharks 3, Supershooters 0: Reid Harrison, Max Goldstein and James Barden scored goals for the Tiger Sharks. For the Supershooters, Aidan Schmid, Harry Lucas and Andrew Gardner played great defense.

Flipping Fladoodles 2, Chihuahua Torpedoes 1: Kevin Finnegan scored for the Torpedoes. For the Flipping Fladoodles, Mathew Bucci and Cooper Buonocore led the way with goals. Andrew Janco made a great defensive play to set up Dylan Kretz for a shot which led to the Torpedoes goal. Dylan Solano came close to scoring and Justin and Andrew Lee played well as goalies. For the Flipping Fladoodles, Jake Anastasi and Conrad Reilly played great defensive games.

Newtown Strikers 1, Stamford Hurricanes 0: The Newtown Strikers beat Stamford 1-0 in a district conference win. Bryce Mather scored the lone goal early in the second half off of an assist from Jonathan Guilherme. Matt Stewart recorded the shutout in goal and was helped defensively by Michael OâKeefe and Tyler Dullinger. John Carlson, James Carney and Robby Schreiber kept the offensive effort going throughout the game.

Score: White Lightning 4, Stamford 0 (State Cup): In a rematch that pitted the finalists from the Ridgefield tournament, Newtown was able to prevail and avenge the earlier season loss to Stamford by dominating play for the entire game. Newtown was led by Jeremy Doski who had two goals, and Michael Cook and Michael Biancardi had one each. Ryan King had three assists. Will Swain and Patrick Rowley controlled play in the midfield, coming up with steals and redirecting the offense. The defense that closed down any offensive threat from Stamford was led by Knute Johnson, Kevin Droniak, Sawyer Conrad and Nathyn Horvath. Peter Manfredonia recorded the shutout in goal and was able to start many offensive charges with long punts pass midfield.
White Lightning 7, Darien 0 (State Cup): The scoring started early when Jeremy Doski took a nice feed from Patrick Rowley to start the scoring. Michael Cook followed with a goal set up by Jeremy Doski. Raymond Xue connected for his first score off an assist from Nathyn Horvath. Doski started the scoring again in the second half (assist from Will Swain). Kevin Droniak was set up by Sawyer Conrad for another goal. Daniel Hamula scored (assist by Ryan King) and Genti Limani scored. Carter Nordman, Knute Johnson and Peter Manfredonia all played well.

Beast of the East 5, The Oskars 2: Craig Frigon started the scoring for the Beast of the East, Tyler Coleman led all scorers with two goals, Matt Rosa added a goal and Rob Nordman scored and played a half as goalkeeper. Sam Boland stepped up as sweeper in the second half to lead the defense in the win. For The Oskars, Travis Hanna and Lukas Palumbo played great offensive games and Eric Pisani and Tommy Shaker were strong on defense.
Man U 8, Strikerz 4:Â Gavin Scallon scored a pair of hat-tricks. Brandon Mark added two goals, Alex Bedini played well on offense and Joe Anastasi had a great game at defense. For the Strikerz, Matt Barra and Nick Shannon each scored and Charlie Poarch netted a pair. John Narducci had a good game at midfield and Noah Velush-Rogers played strong defense.
Cobras 1, Bridgeport 0: The Cobras remained undefeated as Sean Elliott earned his second straight shutout. Sam Langdon, Robert Willis Alec Lockhart and Yossi Kohrman-Glaser anchored the defense. Colin Moller, Noah Sock and Francis Saraceni dominated midfield play. The goal came late on a corner kick by Stephen Conway which Patrick Riccardi finished with a header.
Italian Stallians 4, Team One 0: Evan Swain scored two goals, and Robby Russo and Patrick Haggerty each scored a goal. Nicholas Snyder and Michael Berko played tremendous defense in the win. Kyle Watkins played an overall great game.
