Theresa A. (DelVento) Polifka

Theresa A. (DelVento) Polifka, 57, of Fairfield, co-owner of Henderson Trumbull Supply Company and the City Cement Block Company, died on February 6 in St Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was the sister of Robert DelVento of Newtown.

Born in Bridgeport, Mrs Polifka had been a Fairfield resident for the past 32 years. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion Post #143 in Fairfield, a member and past co-president of the Stratfield Parent Teachers Association, and a member of the Builders Supply Credit Bureau.

She was pre-deceased by her father, Stephen DelVento. Survivors include her husband, Stephen J. Polifka, of Fairfield; three children, Stephen J. Polifka, Jr, of Fairfield, Louise Vezina of Fairfield, and Theresa Jakab of Milford; her mother, Louise (Chapman) DelVento of Easton; three other brothers, Stephen DelVento of Trumbull, Vito DelVento of Easton, and Russell DelVento of Easton; two grandchildren, James Vezina, Jr, and Nicole Vezina; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services were held on February 9 in the Spear Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield, and in St John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 100 Saint John’s Drive, Trumbull. Interment followed in Saint Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
