Free ‘Twelfth Night’ At Beardsley Zoo

BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport Free Shakespeare will offer seven free productions of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night this month at Beardsley Zoo. Performances will be Friday through Sunday, July 19-21, and Wednesday through Sunday, July 24-28, at 8 pm each night.

The company will stage the Bard’s classic play by setting in the Victorian era on the Connecticut shoreline in a highly spirited, easy to understand production with professional actors, beautiful costumes, innovative sets, music and dancing. Bridgeport Free Shakespeare is a member of Shakespeare Theatre Association of America.

Performances will be at the zoo’s Peacock Pavilion, with the grounds opening each night at 6 pm for picnics. In the event of inclement weather the show will move into the zoo’s Carousel House. Due to seating limitations, however, only the first 150 patrons will be admitted into the Carousel House.
