To The Editor:

The go-ahead at referendum by Newtown voters April fifth on the Newtown Community Center was won, with a significant number of voters maybe wanting a delay until firm figures on principal components were made known, even a projected operating expense or two. That motivation seemed to make sense to do so.

The promise of a community center is exciting and the Commission seems to have laid substantial support for the ideas that have been generated so far for inclusion. The okay is there to go ahead; the premise of no tax burden is accepted if you say so; and Newtown gains a valuable community asset.

I think it's safe to say that we appreciate the gifts and the givers of money, time, talent, and efforts made on our behalf.
