Warrant Arrest
Newtown police report that they learned from Norwalk police on September 26 that they had in their custody John Pasquence, 58, of Danbury, for whom Newtown police held an arrest warrant.
Newtown police then charged Pasquence with evading responsibility and with failure to drive to the right in connection with a motor vehicle accident that had occurred on May 10 on Jacklin Road in Dodgingtown.
According to a police report, which was released after that accident occurred, at about 4:30 pm on May 10, an unknown person was driving a Peterbilt truck which is owned by a Danbury firm southeastward in the middle of Jacklin Road, near the Bethel town line. At that time, a Bethel woman was driving a 2009 Mini Cooper auto northwestward on Jacklin Road.
The Mini Cooper driver swerved to the right to avoid a collision with the truck, but the Mini Cooper went off the right side of the road, striking some curbing and a tree branch. The two vehicles did not strike each other. The woman was not injured, but the Mini Cooper was damaged in the incident, according to police.
On September 26 after processing the arrest, police released Pasquence on $250 bail for an October 11 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.

School Bus Accident
Police report an accident involving a school bus and a pickup truck at about 6:30 am on September 20 near 40 South Main Street.
Elizabeth Castillo, 30, of Waterbury was driving a 2006 Ford school bus owned by MTM Transportation and was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound South Main Street from a commercial parking lot at 40 South Main Street, as motorist Christopher Campbell, 26, of Danbury was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck southward on South Main Street, police said.
Police said that a front exterior mirror on the school bus struck the side of the pickup truck. There were no injuries. Police did not list any passengers as being on the bus. Police said that they verbally warned Castillo for failure to grant the right of way.
Two Keys
Police said that they are holding for safekeeping a metal key ring with two keys that was found on June 9 near the gazebo at The Pleasance, a park next to the police station.
Police said that one key is for a Chevrolet-brand vehicle and the other is an Assa Abloy-brand key for a commercial lock.
The owner of the keys may contact police at the police station at 3 Main Street to claim them.
Bicycle
Police said this week that they are holding for safekeeping a maroon Shimano-brand mountain bicycle that was found on August 17 at Platts Hill Road. The bikeâs owner should contact Officer Scott Smith at the police station to claim it.
Bennetts Bridge Road
Motorist Jonas DeGuzman, 45, of 23 Cedarhurst Trail was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu sedan northward near 27 Bennetts Bridge Road at about 6:40 pm on September 25, when a deer ran out in front of the auto, resulting in a collision, police report.
DeGuzman was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Mt Pleasant
Motorist Nancy Adams, 50, of Southbury was driving a 2004 Mazda Tribute SUV westward on Mt Pleasant Road, near Blackman Road, about 6:48 pm on September 27, when a deer ran out onto the street in front of the vehicle, resulting in a collision, according to police.
Adams was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Engagement Ring
Police said this week that they are holding for safekeeping an engagement ring, which has an array of nine diamonds, which was found on April 30 in a parking lot near Caraluzziâs Food Market at 5 Queen Street.
The ringâs band has the initials âC.G.â engraved on it, as well as a date in 1994. The owner may claim the ring at the police station.
Violation of Probation
Police report that after learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, a young male turned himself over to them on the afternoon of September 28 and was charged with violation of probation in connection with a past case in which he was charged with interfering with police and with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
After posting $500 bail, the young male was released into the custody of a parent for an October 11 court appearance, police said.
The male is considered a âyouthful offenderâ and his identity is undisclosed due to his age, according to police.
Warrant
Police said that at 8:57 am on September 30, they went to 3 Jacobs Lane and served a warrant against Jay McDougall, 40, of that address, charging him with second-degree failure to appear in court in connection with a past incident in which he was charged with traveling unreasonably fast and with driving while under suspension.
Police said they released McDougall from custody on $1,500 bail for an October 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Berkshire Crash
Police report that motorist Rebecca Greenwalt, 17, of 195 Berkshire Road was driving a 1999 Saturn SL-2 sedan eastward near 107 Berkshire Road in rainy conditions at about 10 pm on September 28, when while negotiating a curve in the road, the auto skidded and struck some guardrailing along the right road shoulder, after which it went off the left road shoulder and struck a stone wall.
Greenwalt was not injured. Police said they issued her a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
Highway Accident
State police report that motorist Ryan Sandberg, 34, of Beacon Falls was driving a 2008 Ford panel truck eastward on Interstate 84 at about 3:49 pm on September 28 and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which eastbound motorist Willie Hendricks, 48, of Hamden, who was driving a 1997 Nissan auto, stopped behind the Ford.
Eastbound motorist Rachel Hahn, 21, of Colchester, who was driving a 1996 Mercedes-Benz C-220 auto, then struck the rear end of the Nissan, pushing the Nissan into the rear end of the Ford, state police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Hendricks and Hahn to Danbury Hospital to be checked for injuries, state police said. State police said they issued Hahn an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Lincoln Vs Honda
State police said that motorist Natverbhai Amin, 79, of 11 Whitewood Road, who was driving a 2012 Honda CRV SUV about 5:13 pm on September 27, stopped at a stop sign on eastbound Interstate 84âs Exit 9 off-ramp and was then struck from behind by motorist Thomas Degatano, 19, of New Milford, who was driving a 2008 Lincoln MKZ sedan.
There were no injuries. State police said they issued Degatano an infraction for following too closely.
Volvo Hits Ford
While traveling on eastbound Interstate 84, in the vicinity of Exit 9 at about 5:05 pm on September 27, motorist Ann Pastor, 43, of Chesterfield, Va., who was driving a 2006 Volvo XC-90 SUV, struck the rear end of a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Daniel Shaw, 43, of Hinsdale, N.H., state police report.
There were no injuries. State police issued Pastor a written warning for failure to maintain a safe distance apart.
Foreign Object
State police report that motorist James Welsh, 54, of Bethel, who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo coupe eastward on Interstate 84, about 1,500 feet east of Exit 9, at about 9:51 am on September 26, struck a metallic object that was lying on the roadway. Welsh was not injured.
Asleep at Wheel
State police report that motorist Jeremy Delano, 36, of Westbrook, Maine, was driving a 2009 Ford F-350 truck westward on Interstate 84, about 500 feet east of the Exit 10 off-ramp, at about 11:18 am on September 25, when he fell asleep at the wheel and then struck the median guardrail.
Neither Delano nor a passenger were injured. State police said they issued Delano a written warning for failure to stay in the established lane.
I-84 Crash
Motorist Nicholas OâBrien, 26, of Brookfield was driving a 2004 Honda Accord westward on Interstate 84, about 1,000 feet of Exit 10, about 9 pm on September 23, when he lost control of the auto and then struck some metal guardrailing, damaging about 250 linear feet of the guardrailing, state police said.
OâBrien was not injured. Enforcement information was not available.
Interfering
Police report that they were dispatched to 27 Maltbie Road at about 6 pm on September 30 after receiving a report of a possible dispute there.
Police said that after arriving, they encountered William Gallo, 49, of that address, who threw an unspecified object at them.
Police said they charged Gallo with interfering with a peace officer. Gallo was released on $1,000 bail for an October 16 court appearance on the charge, police said.
Two Burglaries
Police said they are investigating two daytime residential burglaries that occurred on October 1, which may be related incidents.
One break-in occurred on Chimney Swift Drive, off Riverside Road, and the other break-in took place on Valley Field Road North, off Alberts Hill Road.
Both burglaries occurred when there were no residents at home, police said. In both cases, a rear window of the home was smashed in and entry was gained to the premises.
In both burglaries, jewelry was stolen, police said. Police learned of the crimes after the residents returned home and found evidence of the break-ins.

Vehicular Mishap
Police report that at about 12:27 pm on October 2, motorist Henry Dieck, 84, of 38 Echo Valley Road, who was driving a 2008 Honda Accord sedan, was exiting his driveway and then reached down to get a newspaper that had been left on his driveway while he was still within the Honda.
In doing so, Dieck inadvertently placed his foot on the accelerator pedal and he fell out of the auto, but was able to get back into the vehicle uninjured, police said.
Dieck, however, was unable to stop the Honda and it crossed Echo Valley Road, striking a rock alongside the street, police said. Police said they verbally warned him for unsafe movement.
Moving Violations
Police said that while on patrol in Sandy Hook Center about 9:47 pm on October 1, they stopped motorist Samantha Shepard, 23, of 39 Cricket Trail on Riverside Road, near its intersection with Glen Road, Church Hill Road, and Washington Avenue.
After investigating, police charged Shepard with failure to obey a traffic signal and with driving with a suspended license.
Police report they released her on a written promise to appear in court October 11.
Warrant
Police report that state bail enforcement agents brought Robert E. Coffey, 28, of Waterbury to the police station about 10 pm on October 3, where police held a warrant for his arrest.
Police said their warrant lists a charge of second-degree failure to appear in court against Coffey in connection with his not appearing in Danbury Superior Court on September 20.
In March, police charged Coffey with sixth-degree larceny and fraudulent use of an automatic teller machine, as a result of their investigation into a January complaint about a December 2011 incident. Coffey has pleaded not guilty to both those charges
Police said they held Coffey on $15,000 bail for an October 4 court appearance.
