Reason for becoming a teacher: “I like people, and am fascinated by the learning process. The two of which make teaching a good choice.”

The key to successful teaching: “I’m looking at kids’ actions now and trying to get kids to believe in their own potential.”

Most memorable moment in teaching: “I chose in 1969 to work here and I’ve never regretted it for one day. It’s just a great experience. The most memorable thing for me is the vision for education here in Newtown and the people who put those practices into motion.”

Interests: “I participate in golf, bowling, and a book club, in addition to compiling a family genealogy and cookbook.”
