Calvin J. Colonel, 83, of Oxford Greens, died January 28, in Danbury Hospital. He was born August 1, 1928, in Woodhaven, N.Y., son of Maude (Podeyn) and Joseph R. Colonel. He was the husband of Barbara (Parish) Colonel.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves his son, Richard J. Colonel, and his wife Lori, of Sandy Hook; and two grandchildren.

Mr Colonel was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

He had worked in quality control at Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, N.Y., for 33 years.

He enjoyed building remote control boats, playing ping pong and was an avid bowler.

Funeral services took place February 2. Private burial will be in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
