Mary Tichey-Staack: “I spend it quietly at home with family. At night, we go to fireworks, usually in Danbury.”

Mary O’Dea: “This is our first 4th in Newtown. We used to attend the Westport fireworks. Fireworks are like a return to childhood.”

Theresa Eames with Timmy and Veronica: “We are going to a party at a friend’s house to watch fireworks.”

Dr Brian Recht: “I’m visiting from California. I might go sailing with friends. I usually work. I work at a hospital; we’re always open for business.”

Bethany Morin: “We usually go to a cookout. This year we will be at a family friend’s house.”

Christine Salamon: “I celebrate with family. I have a big family. We like to barbecue.”
