Exceleride Cycling Studio, devoted exclusively to indoor cycling, opened February 24, at 211 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel, in the Dolan Plaza. Co-owned by former Newtown resident Jeanne Query and her three brothers, Chris, Michael, and John Corelli, Exceleride promises “An excellent ride, every time.”

Twenty-two generously spaced state-of-the-art Schwinn stationary bicycles fill the cycling studio, where Ms Query and an additional six certified instructors lead classes, seven days of the week. Exceleride offers classes in the mornings, at noontime, and in the late afternoons and early evenings, and caters to indoor cyclists from beginners to the more experienced. The studio continues to add classes in response to the community’s needs, said Ms Query.

The business is an extension of their family’s commitment to and love of fitness, said Ms Query, who along with her brother, Chris, has been an avid outdoor bicyclist for years. “We are from a very athletic family. Our father ran his own business and coached football and baseball on the side. Sports are the right hand for our family,” she said. “We wanted to get into the fitness world and help people get fit. Cycling is fun and it doesn’t get boring. It’s a great stress reliever that everyone, at every level, can participate in,” she said.

“What makes us different from other fitness studios,” Ms Query said, “is that it is much more personal here. We have gotten to know our customers already. Everyone has been really welcoming.”

Classes can be purchased one at a time, or by purchasing a 5, 10, 20, or 30-ride package. For a limited time, Exceleride is offering a special unlimited ride package for $99/month, with a three-month commitment.

“It’s fun to open a business where you can be enthusiastic about it,” Ms Query said.

An updated schedule is viewable at www.exceleride.com, where customers can create an account and reserve a spot in a class. Walk-ins are always welcome, Ms Query said, and new riders receive two free classes. Call 203-917-4521 for more information.

Jeanne Query sits atop one of 22 top-of-the-line stationary bikes at Exceleride Cycling Studio in Bethel. Ms Query, along with brothers Chris, Michael, and John Corelli, opened the indoor cycling studio in February.
