Anthony P. Mayor

Anthony P. Mayor, 78, of Stratford, died September 19 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Haven. He was the husband of Margaret Motika Mayor.

He is survived by a son, Steven P. Mayor and his wife, Katherine, of Sandy Hook.

Born in South Norwalk, March 25, 1923, Mr Mayor was the son of the late Anthony P. Mayor, Sr, and the late Bertha (Serfozo) Mayor. He was a Norwalk resident for most of his life and had lived in Stratford for the past eight years. Mr Mayor was a welder for A. Marchand Inc., and was a US Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Mayor) Strazza and her husband, Nicholas, of Stratford; a brother, Frank Mayor of Norwalk; three sisters, Bertha E. Hucaluk of Derby, Anne E. Melillo of Westport, and Mary M. Van Zilen of Cromwell; three grandchildren, Nicole and Anthony Strazza and Steven Mayor; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, John, William and Joseph Mayor.

Services were held on September 23 at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue in Norwalk. Interment was private.
