Holly’s Hero

To the Editor:

You never know when a stranger will touch your life. I was walking my dog on my 41st birthday, October 16th 2004, it was a beautiful day, and I was on our very lovely Main Street in Newtown. All of a sudden, I felt a seizure coming on; I was so worried about my 1-year-old lab I remember thinking this was not happening. I don’t remember anything until “waking up” in my home on Glover Avenue.

I owe the safety of myself and my dearest friend, Buddy, to Joe-Anis, owner of Lulu’s Sister Dress Shop. Joanna stopped her car and walked me all the way home; at the time, she thought I was a special needs person. She walked me from the flagpole to my home on Glover Avenue, this was not easy since I was still coming out of a seizure and could barely walk or talk. She brought me all the way home and called 911. I would not get into her car or allow her to take me to the police station (anyone who knows me knows I would never leave my dog).

If you ever go into the dress shop, please say hello to my Hero, Joe-Anis.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,

Holly Walczak
