Hockey Players Recognized

Newtown High School hockey players Mike Allwein and Christian Blais were selected to postseason All-Star teams.

Allwein, a senior goaltender, played in the Senior All Star game at Milford Ice Pavilion this past weekend. Allwein, subsequently, was chosen to represent the state against the Massachusetts All Stars, also in Milford, on April 1. 

Blais, a centerman, was chosen for the Junior Select Team, but was unable to play in this past weekend’s game due to injury. Newtown Coach Paul Esposito coached the winning Junior team and will lead the squad against the Massachusetts team in Milford on Sunday.
