Police Investigate Report Of Suspicious Photographer
Town police are investigating a report of a suspicious man who was falsely claiming to be a Newtown Bee reporter and taking photographs at an equine event held on the afternoon of Sunday, March 25, outdoors at Edmond Town Hall at 45 Main Street.
The Newtown Bridle Lands Association and the Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard held the event to allow people to see horses in conjunction with the 4:30 pm screening of the feature film War Horse at the adjacent town hall theater.
Police said that that at about 4 pm the man was taking photos and speaking with families at the event and claiming to be a Newtown Bee reporter.
The man left the area after he was approached by a photographer who was legitimately working for The Bee.
Police described the man as white, about 60 years old, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, âscruffyâ looking, partially bald with patches of salt-and-pepper colored hair, and wearing a pair of thick, black-framed eyeglasses.
Police ask anyone with information on the manâs identity to contact investigating Officer Matthew Wood at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Bee Editor Curtiss Clark said that Bee staff reporters and photographers carry identification, which they will present upon request.
