What is your favorite kind of bird? Asked at Newtown Middle School.

Krista Degenhardt: “Bluebirds. I absolutely love bluebirds; they are really bright and pretty.”

Don Ramsey: “The loon because it makes a very serene cry.”

Chester Washburn: “The cardinal. They’re beautiful and cardinals don’t do anything but brighten the yard with the contrast in color between their red and the green background.”

Sam Whitley: “Robins, because when I was little I would visit with my great-grandma and robins were her favorite bird. So now when I see one I think that she is watching over me.”

Erica Ross: “Parakeets, because my dad use to breed them so we have always had them.”

Steven Zarifis: “Red-tail hawk. They are just cool animals.”
